The OBD 1910 is a simple, plug-and-play solution that can extend a 1GE or 10GbE signal up to 30km* over a single fiber link. The OBD 1910 uses WDM multiplexing to send and receive the signal over a single fiber link (Simplex) instead of the more traditional Duplex fiber links. It is a straight forward pass-through and does not provide bitrate conversion from 1GbE to 10GbE.

The kit includes 2 modules with power supplies. No advanced configuration is required; simply connect the Ethernet and Fiber to get started. The modules support 1GbE and 10GbE networks with a maximum throughput of 20Gbit/s.

To increase distances on multi-mode installations the OBD 1910 MM version converts the duplex multi-mode RX and TX into a simplex bi-directional single-mode fiber to achieve longer reach.

 

*Distance is an approximation. Actual distances achieved can be longer or shorter depending on fiber type and optical losses in the fiber link. Determine link losses and perform optical budget calculations to ensure correct operation.
