What is greenMachine?
The greenMachine is a powerful general-purpose audio and video processing appliance that can be configured by the user using one of our pre-defined machine configurations, which we refer to as “constellations”
What is a Constellation?
A “constellation” is a configuration package (or software file) which is a predefined bundle of functionality (smaller APPs) which define the machines core functionality. These constellations are licensed or purchased like any other option and simply deployed into the hardware. The advantages of the “constellation” concept being:
- Future Proofing – when we develop new constellations for greenMachine these can be added at any time, protecting hardware investments
- You can have multiple constellations licensed for a greenMachine, switching between them takes seconds enabling you to reconfigure the machine for specific projects and applications on demand
- If you have more than one green machine connected to a network then you can share the constellations between connected machines. You are basically licensing “instances” of the constellation and if its not being used by one machine on the network it can be used by another.
- All greenMachines are delivered preloaded with all the available constellations. When we release new constellations you can easily update your greenMachine online. This lets you test drive and thoroughly evaluate every current (and future) constellation we have available on your own greenMachine before making any purchase decision. The only restriction is a watermark on the video and audio, purchase a license to remove the watermarking.
How to configure GreenMachine
We have made the process as simple as possible and we bundle the greenMachine hardware with each constellation providing a range of pre-defined products.
All are delivered with the constellation licensed, installed and ready to run right out of the box. Simply purchase the package which best suits your current needs. Remember, you can add additional constellations (or activate them) at any time so you are never locked into any given product configuration. Consider our packages “starter systems”
If you have a larger networked system then we can supply the greenMachine hardware only, these can access any existing (unused) licensed constellations from other machines on your network. We call a network of greenMachines a “green universe” and all the constellations can be shared freely between any greenMachines connected to the green universe.
